When Baking Is Your đź’ś Language
It might sound strange to say I miss my care team at Dana-Farber—but that’s just how incredible they are. Their care is so heartfelt💞, so human, that being on the receiving end of it is something I genuinely cherish. So when I prepped for my recent check-up—spoiler alert: I’m still in remission 🙌—I knew I wanted to keep up my tradition of bringing something homemade from my kitchen.
Dorie Greenspan perfectly captures what it means to bake with your whole heart. (She even has a cookie called “World Peace Cookies”—need I say more?) This time, I baked her blueberry crumb cake. It exceeded every expectation: bursting with flavor, tender, moist, and downright irresistible. Baking is my way of saying thank you. When you nourish both hearts and bellies, your message comes through loud and clear.
This amazing team continues to inspire me to train and fundraise for the Pan-Mass Challenge, even as we face daunting budget cuts. The PMC has had a profound impact on cancer treatment and care, and it remains the single largest donor to Dana-Farber. It’s awe-inspiring to know that AI is now being used at DFCI to help treat and research cancer—another incredible result of this support.
As a reminder, 100% of rider-raised donations go directly to the cause—no overhead, just impact.
This will be my very first Pan-Mass Challenge, and I’m asking for your support. You can donate directly to me via my profile page or send a check if that’s easier.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your kindness and generosity. Thank you to my extraordinary care team, and to every professional dedicated to researching, treating, and supporting those with cancer—especially those who have stood by me on this journey.
Thank you, team. And thank you, Dorie.
